“Meizen” (明善) draws from the timeless wisdom of Confucian philosophy: “Ming De Zhi Shan”- to cultivate virtue and attain supreme goodness. It represents the pursuit of clarity, enlightenment, and moral excellence. Mike is the Founder and CEO of Morisawa Meizen International (MMI), a Tokyo-headquartered advisory and investment firm serving clients across the Asia-Pacific and beyond. Founded in 2024, MMI specializes in cross-border strategy, capital markets, emerging technologies, M&A execution, and regulatory compliance for innovative ventures and institutional investors.
With over 20 years of international leadership experience, Mike brings deep expertise across finance, business strategy, and corporate governance. Prior to founding MMI, he served as CFO and Executive Director at a global AI and robotics company, where he led multiple successful fundraising rounds totaling more than USD 400 million and spearheaded the company’s IPO preparation.
Mike began his career at PwC, where he developed a strong foundation in audit, financial advisory, and internal controls. He later held senior finance and strategic roles within Fortune 500 companies, overseeing large-scale M&A, investment projects, and global compliance programs. His transaction and operational experience spans Greater China, Japan, Singapore, Australia, Europe and the United States, giving him a uniquely global and pragmatic perspective.
He holds a Bachelor’s in Electronic Information Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, a Master’s in Accounting from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, and completed an executive program in sci-tech innovation and entrepreneurship at Fudan University. He is also a U.S. Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), and a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
